
NewYorker, the German youth apparel maker, has signed a lease for the Valentina retail center in Varna, said Ivan Ivanov, executive director of store owner Valentina 200.
The German company is leasing 1 500 sq m of retail floor space and over 400 sq m of storage facilities for a period of 10 years.
According to preliminary information, NewYorker plans to spend one million leva to replace the heating and air-conditioning installations of the store located in the centre of Varna. The building, dating from the 1970s, will also get a face-lift.
Oviesse, the Italian clothing, underwear and accessories company, and Spanish retailer Zara were reportedly also interested in the Valentina lease although they already have outlets in Varna.
In late 2007, Ireland's Miller Group said it had prelet space to NewYorker in the Mall Varna, which is scheduled for opening in early April.
